DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR

Dry Eye Isn't Just 'Dry'.

It can feel like many things, and sometimes it even makes your eyes water. If you nod along to a few of these, we can help.

  • Burning, stinging or gritty eyes
  • Blurry vision that clears when you blink
  • Contacts that get uncomfortable by afternoon
  • Watery eyes that never seem to stop
  • Tired eyes after screens or driving
  • Red, swollen or crusty eyelids
THE SIMPLE VERSION

The Most Common Cause of Dry Eye Is Hiding in Your Eyelids.

1

Tiny glands make oil

Along your eyelids, meibomian glands release a thin layer of oil with every blink. It keeps tears from evaporating.

2

The glands get blocked

Over time the oil can thicken and clog the gland openings. That’s meibomian gland dysfunction, or MGD.

3

Tears dry out too fast

Without enough oil, tears evaporate quickly. Your eyes feel dry, irritated and tired, even with artificial tears.

HOW IT WORKS

Gentle light, applied to your closed eyelids.

Low-level light therapy (LLLT), also called photobiomodulation, uses soft, low-intensity light that is absorbed by the tissue of your eyelids. It’s designed to support the glands and calm the inflammation that often comes with MGD, so the glands can work more naturally.

It isn’t a laser and it isn’t a drop. You sit back, close your eyes, and let the device do its work.

1 Dry eye evaluation

Our doctors look at your tear film and your glands to find the root cause and see if LLLT fits.

2 Get comfortable

A team member gets you settled and explains each step, so you know exactly what’s happening.

3  Your light session

Eyes closed, you relax while the MDElite device delivers gentle light. Sessions are only 20 minutes.

4 Track your progress

You’ll have a personalized plan and follow-up visits to see how your eyes are responding.

Chevron

Most patients find it comfortable and relaxing. Your care team will walk you through exactly what to expect before you begin.

How many sessions will I need
Chevron

It depends on your eyes. Our doctor will recommend a plan after your evaluation.

When will I notice a difference?
Chevron

Everyone responds differently. Many patients see gradual improvement over a series of sessions, and we’ll check in at follow-up visits to measure your progress.

Is it right for me?
Chevron

That’s what your evaluation is for. We’ll review your symptoms and health history. Some conditions or medications mean light therapy may not be appropriate, and we’ll tell you honestly if another option is better.
